Phuket Beach Activities
Though there is plenty of sand and water for one to play in on the wonderful beaches in Phuket, there is much more to enjoy in the water and on land as well. From going shopping to scuba diving, there is plenty to fill your heart's desire.
Water Sports in Phuket
Starting off with the water sports it must be said that there are activities such as Surfing, Windsurfing, Diving & Snorkeling, Trekking, and Sailing. Of these, the one that is most commonly participated in is Scuba Diving. Of course, this is for a reason; the waters are spectacular above and below, and one can get down to the bottom, there is so much to see.

Canoe-experts
As experienced as the Scuba Divers are the Canoe-experts. You may handle one on your own if you are confident enough to do so. Otherwise, you have to sit in a canoe with an expert who can take you through the whole adventure. This seems dangerous but is more fun than anything else. It is relatively safe, and the average visitor would certainly want to try it out. In addition to the expertise involved, it also must be asserted that the water where this activity takes place is calm. There are particular areas too where canoeing is normally done, such as the National Park where you can enjoy a sight of hornbills and monkeys.
River rafting
River rafting appears to be another common interest along side canoeing. The most common area where you will find this sort of activity is at the Mae Kok between Thatorn to Chiangrai. Aside from these water activities, there are things to do on land.
Land Activities
Bicycling
Bicycling for one is an activity in Phuket that is well known. The locals here too are fond of bicycling; it is a good exercise while you are on vacation and is great fun. One mode of bicycling is to do so through the streets, the other is to hammer down mountain trails. The latter is perhaps more strenuous, but certainly a great deal of fun. Cycling on the beaches is also fun, but this requires a lot more effort because of the softer path you have to ride on. Like bicycling, motorcycling is also another interest of the people here, and you may try this as well, as long as you remain in control of the vehicle.
Shopping
In addition to the activity that one may take part in, there are also things to do in Phuket that are interesting. This includes shopping, which is definitely one the visitor activities here. There are several things that one can buy, such as the antiques and other things that are not available any place else. Indeed, there is a lot that one can take back after visiting this place.

Target shooting that really interests visitors with a collection ranging between small caliber to large bore and shotguns.
The Monkey School of Chalong where shows are held 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00, everyday except Friday.
The Snake farms and Cobra entertainment, which you can find at Chalong and Patong.
