In Hua Hin/Chaam, there are indeed many things to do. There is so much to see and so much to do, and when one is in this wonderful place, there are many ways in which one can be kept entertained. Below are few descriptions of things that you can do when you visit Hua Hin/Chaa.
Khao Hin Lek Fai Hill:
The Khao Hin Lek Fai is a good place to go if you want to spend time observing the beauty in this part of the world. The view from this hill, which is around 1.5 km towards the west of the city center, is spectacular. The first thing that your eyes fall on are the golf courses below; looking at these and observing the size of Hua Hin/Chaam makes one realize how small Hua Hin/Chaam really is.
In addition to this view there is also a new park built on top of the hill, with a collection of flowering plants, shrubs, and indigenous trees; this creates a cool environment for one to sit and relax up on the hill. Coming down this hill is fun, as you may do so with a mountain bike. The Khao Hin Lek Fai hill is not the only interesting thing in itself, as there are sites to see around it as well.
Thai Boxing:
One the way to this hill, you have to pass a field where there is plenty of martial art action. You get to see several Thai boxers practicing Muay Thai. I would not recommend you trying it out because it is a very hard style and you can be injured. However, observing them perform is a treat in itself for those who are interested in the sport.
Another interesting place to go to is the Fishing Harbor and Pier. You can get to see the busy port here 24 hrs a day with shipments coming in all day, and work continues throughout the night as well. Another interesting view of this place is the drying process, in which the locals place fish outside their homes to dry, and they do so even on side walks.
In this area, there are also restaurants that you could eat at while touring the place.
Mini-golf:
Mini-golf is one the places at which you can actually participate. This is because it is safe unlike the Thai Boxing near the Khao Hin Lek Fai hill. The Mini-golf is a pitch and putt course located at the Regent Cha Am. There is also a mini-golf course in Hua Hin situated at Petchkasem Rd south of the town. The Hua Hin Minigolf is available to visitors between 9:00 am-10:00 pm. The fee for a whole day's play is just $4. This is amazingly low, and the place is a great place for one to enjoy the day. There is also a restaurant here that allows one to fill up after enjoying a round of golf.
Shopping:
Shopping is also another thing to do when in Hua Hin/Chaam. There are no big malls or anything like that to go to, but there are plenty of small shops that are usually located around road sides, especially near the Sofitel and Melia hotels. If you are looking out for local handicrafts, the best place to go to is the Hua Hin Bazaar, which is about 100 meters west of the beach. The most common handicrafts that you could purchase here are the ones made from shells and wood. In addition to handicrafts, you can also find tailors and restaurants along Naresdamri Road right up to Chomsin Road.
Also, there are many shops on Chomsin Road that sell silver ware. Also, there are outlets there from where you can purchase multiple pairs of pants, jackets, shirts, etc for less than a hundred Dollars.
