Pusan Culture

Pusan culture, like any other city in Korea, has its roots in Japan and China. This culture can be seen in the artwork that is prominently displayed in hotels, restaurants, shops, homes and places of worship. The Korean culture got world recognition at the Olympic Games in 1988.

Weather in Pusan

The weather in Pusan is temperate and seasonal. The summers are very hot and the winters are very cold with a lot of rain. Pusan is a costal area and is prone to typhoons, which normally occur from May to October.

Shopping in Pusan

While you are shopping in Pusan, you should remember that you will have to hunt for the best prices. Before you can go and shop, you should pay a visit to the Art & Antique office so that you know which items you can carry with you. If you have a doubt on a particular item you can ask the shopkeeper and they will also be able to instruct you as well.

When you are buying clothes, remember that most of the places do not have a fitting room. You can usually exchange clothes within three days of purchase.

What to Wear in Pusan

While packing your bags for your trip to Pusan, be sure that your clothes match the weather and check the weather with your travel agent. Make sure you take shoes or sandals that can be put on without much trouble. It is a custom in Korea to remove shoes before entering certain temples and houses. Pack a swimsuit or two as there are many beaches and pools.

Travel around Pusan

Traveling around Pusan is relatively easy. It is advised that you use the local public transportation system when traveling greater distances and walk when going only a short distance. You will get to see a lot of Pusan on foot.

There are many health services in Pusan. Be sure that you take someone who can speak the local dialect since most doctors in Pusan do not speak English.

Pusan Nightlife

The nightlife in Pusan is diverse and caters to everyone’s needs. The curfew that was imposed has been abolished. Although most places still close at midnight, there are a few exceptions to this rule and some places are allowed to be open until later. The Korean government is now allowing some establishments to remain open 24 hours to cater to tourists.

Dining Out in Pusan

There are many restaurants that can cater to the various taste buds of the world. The national dish is called Kimchi. Kimchi is a side dish that most foreigners love. There are many restaurants so it is a good idea to visit a few to see what foods that they offer.
