          Places to visit in Makati

 

One of the finest places to be when you are on holiday is Makati. This is because this place has a great deal to offer one. It has splendid sites to see and plenty to do as well. Some of the places that you could see when you come to Makati are briefly described below.

 

Nielsen Tower/ Airport

This place is located at Ayala Ave. cor. Makati Ave., and is now the Filipinas Heritage Library. This place provides you with the experience of actually being in a place where the first private domestic flights of the Philippine Airlines and Iloilo-Negros Air Express Company were controlled from.

Ayala Museum

Situated at Makati Avenue, this museum it tells us about the culture and history of Makati. It has sixty unique dioramas that reveal significant events in the history of the region.

     

Philippine Army Museum

Like other museums this one too reveals historic facts. Situated at McArthur Drive, Fort Bonifacio, the Philipine Army Museum displays antique tanks, guns, cannons, etc. that were used during the Second World War. It must be noted here that Makati was one of the areas that was greatly exposed to warring action during the Second World War.

Museo ng Makati

Located at J.P.Rizal St. Poblacion, Makati, the Musio ng Makati is basically a municipal museum. It has treasures, artifacts, and relics of Makati that reveal its rich history and days of struggle during the war. It also has a large number of items that reveal the history of surrounding parts as well.

Thomas Jefferson Cultural Center

Located at 395 Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, this library remains the same today. It was established around the time the Second World War ended. It has a collection that is up to date, which shows that it is still maintained and valued along with its past.

Makati Park and Garden

This place is located at J.P. Rizal St. It is believed to be Makati’s main Garden. Indeed, people flock here to admire the beauty, and it is a must see for visitors, There are lighted paths as well and waterfalls that enhance the beauty of it too, along with an artificial lagoon.

In addition to this, the garden has been beautified with a gazebo, nearby park spaces, with an amphitheater. The amphitheater is used for cultural functions such as the stage plays, ballet, folk dances, etc.

Alliance Francaise Art Gallery

It must be noted that Makati does not only have museums that reflect the past, but also has places such as the art gallery here that give art tremendous value; on display are art works that are from renowned Filipino artists as well as contemporary ones.

Osmundo Gallery

This gallery is located at Dusit Hotel Nikko. It has antique furniture, folk art, excavated pottery that reveals its past, etc. The most important of the collection is the excavated pottery because of the fact that it tells one about the past.

Makati Cinema Square

Located at cor. Amorsolo St. this place has a wide variety of shops that have finest products at prices you can bargain for. Great dining, blockbuster releases, etc. are the main attractions here.
