Makati is a place that is full of entertainment and activity. There is much to explore, and you may even go about exploring the place on your own. Indeed, Makati is constructed in such a way that if you look at it on a map you will realize how many nooks and corners it has.
Each of these nooks and corners has something or the other to offer you.
However, you need to know how to move about the place, which means that you should be aware of where certain landmarks and roads are situated. In order to help you find your way around, there is a description of the Makati map that would be useful.
Makati Geographical Location
The description presented in the map is based on North, South, East and West directions. To begin with, the most striking feature on the Makati map is the Ayala Avenue that runs diagonally across.
This avenue runs diagonally from the North West to the South East, cutting the map almost in half but not quite. Emerging mid way from the Ayala Avenue is Paseo De Roxas. After emerging from the mid point of Ayala Avenue, it heads straight up to the North East.
Emerging from a point beneath the mid point of the Ayala Avenue is the Makati Avenue. This road also heads towards the North East, but not quite in the same direction. The Paseo De Roxas tends to point in a more Easterly direction, while the Makati Avenue emerging from below it heads more towards the North. It is because of these two roads not heading in quite the same direction that causes them to converge at a point, forming an ‘X’ on the map. This cannot be missed.
Running like a large arc over the map (at the top) is the Sen Gul Puyat Avenue (Buendia Avenue). It starts in the East, touching the Paseo De Roxas, then it touches Makati Avenue as it heads North, and then runs over the Ayala Avenue. The manner in which this avenue touches all these roads almost forms a cover over the map.
The manner in which these avenues are arranged forms sections on the map. The first section is the one in the North of Makati that has the Salcedo Village. It is enclosed by Ayala Avenue on its West and South West, Paseo De Roxas on its South, Makati Avenue on its South East, and arching over it at the top is the Sen Gul Puyat Avenue (Buendia Avenue).
Just below and to the South West is another large area enclosed by the avenues described above. This area contains the Legaspi Village. The area is enclosed by the Ayala Avenue on its North East, the Sen Gul Puyat Avenue (Buendia Avenue) in its North West, Makati Avenue in its South East, and another avenue on its West called Chino Roces (Paso Tamo).
On the east of the Makati map is the third major portion of the map that contains the Urdaneta Village. This area is enclosed by Makati Avenue on the North West, Paseo De Roxas to the North, and Ayala Avenue in the South.
