Myanmar visa procedures dated July 28, 2006 explain the visa requirements for tourism. All tourists can obtain a Myanmar visa on arrival at the airport by presenting an approval letter and paying the visa fee of $20.00 at the immigration counter at the Yangon International Airport.
Procedures for obtaining a Myanmar visa for travel and tourism on arrival are:
Application for issuance of “Visa on Arrival” should be should be submitted to via fax or e-mail along with one passport size photograph and a copy of the passport.

An “Approval Letter” for obtaining visa on arrival will be issued by the Ministry and sent to you for presentation at the airline check in counter.
Procedure of obtaining Myanmar Visa by Guided Tour operators for Travel and Tourism
Submit a covering letter containing the details including tour license number, tour package details and the name of person conducting the tour. It must be signed and stamped by the owner or managing director of the tour company.
Fill and attach the “VOA” (visa on arrival) approval form
Upon receipt of approval “Visa on Arrival”, these approval forms should be sent to the persons concerned so they can produce these approval forms at the immigration counter at the Yangon International Airport for issuance of Myanmar visa on arrival.
Is Extension in Myanmar Burma Visa possible?
A maximum of 2 weeks extension can be obtained. If you intend to apply for an extension of the Myanmar visa should follow the following guidelines:
You can either apply for extension in visa before you arrive or on arrival.
In either case, you have to fill out a pre-designed form, attach 2 photographs and the original passport and a fee of $50.00 has to be submitted for staying and traveling in the country.
Applicants who apply for extension of the visa before arriving in Myanmar will have to obtain an endorsement from the concerned Ministry.
