Maldives is a beautiful place to visit and people from far and wide travel to this place for vacations. In South Asia, Maldives is one of the most serene areas to get some peace and quiet. Though it is a peaceful place to be, there is also a great deal of action. There are several things to do and places go when in Maldives.
Scenic Beauty
Its lovely white sands and crystal clear waters make a fantastic scene. The country is composed of many small islands and has a large surface area for picnic spots and water entertainment. There are plenty of reefs that are beautiful just to look at which are used for activities and water sports. You can spend almost everyday at these beaches and still not get tired of them.
Looking at Maldives
All the islands areas in Maldives are arranged in a North-South Direction. Starting in the North, there is Haa Alifu on the Eastern side of the strip of islands followed by Shaviyani and Noonu.
A little ways down, on the Western side of the strip is Ha Dhaal, Raa and Baa. Further down towards the south is Alifu, then Faafu (North Nilandhe Atoll), Daalu, then Kudahuvadhoo, Thaa, and Laamu. In Daalu (South Nilandhe Atoll), two of the best islands for a vacation include Vilu Reef and Velavura. In Faafu, the place to have a vacation is Filitheyo.
Vacation Spots
On the Eastern side below Noonu is Kaafu, then Male, Vaavu and Meemu (Mulaku Atoll). Two places where you can have a good vacation in Meemu are Medhu, Fushi and Hakura Club. In Vaavu, the islands that are ideal for vacationing include Dhiggirri and Alimatha. In Faafu, the place to spend a vacation is Filitheyo. Other places for a great vacation are in the northern parts of Maldives such as Ha Dhaal, Shaviyani, and Noonu.
There are islands everywhere in the north and the bulk of the vacation activity goes on there. Activities such as swimming, snorkeling, diving and the like are common. There are plenty of resorts in these areas that are great for a stay. Most of the resorts can have activities and tour arranged for you. They will help you find your way around the islands as well. You should take the hotel tours because you will at least have an idea where you are when you go out alone.
