Like other places in South East Asia the people are hospital. They are open to visitors because they know that they gain from tourism and they generally are warm people. The weather in Tioman is humid and hot almost all year round, but there is plenty of rain cool things off. Cooler places in the Tioman are the hilly parts where the temperature is around 30° C (86° F). When the northeast monsoon blows in the months of October through March there is not much change in the weather, but the southwest monsoon has an impact on Tioman. This takes place from May through September and there is heavier rainfall in spring and autumn as the monsoon switches its direction.

Tioman is not a bustling place like other tourist spots; it is a quieter place meant for relaxation. However, there are places where you can buy different kinds of souvenirs. In order to boost business, the government has made Tioman a tax-free zone.

Travel Around Tioman
Tioman is a unique because of its scenic beauty. There are quite a few interesting places to see including the Jungle Track in the north. There are guides who can take you through some parts of the track. It is an interesting track that stretches from the west to the east at a decline of roughly 25°. This path links the east and west of the northern part of Tioman.
Running parallel to this track are ways of getting from east to west, or vice versa. Transport is not a problem as there are buses and taxis available aside from the hotel transport you may hire. The landing airstrip in Tioman is just below the mid point of the Jungle Track. West is Bajaya Tioman Beach Resort and on the East there is the Juara Village. Some distance below Juara village southwards is Bukit Seperok. Directly opposite this in the west is Genting Village. Right in the South are two more interesting locations that can be reached with transport available in the area, Bukit Neack Schmokut and Mukut Village.
Health Services in Tioman
The Mersing Hospital deals with many surrounding areas. It is more than 20 acres and is at Jalan Ismail. The Mersing hospital serves the populations of more than 60,000 people and includes Pulau Tioman. The hospital is quite small compared to other hospital in the state of Johor.
Tioman Nightlife
The only night life that you come across is spending long hours after dark at the beach. It is not the ideal thing to do, but when you have company and a small fire it can be fun. The only other night life you can findis in the hotel vicinity are restaurants and games. There are also restaurants at the beaches which are nice.
Dining Out in Tioman
There are very few places where you can dine out. Normally people have to settle for in-hotel services which are probably the best. The restaurants in the hotels are of good standard and offer a wide variety of dishes.
Tioman Business
Business conducted in Tioman is limited to the tourist industry. Fishing is an import part of the revenue earned in Tioman, but it is generally the hotel and food business that earns most of the money.
