          Tips for Visiting Kuala Lumpur

Indeed, visiting a place would need you to know where you want to go and what you have to do there. You would need to know about things in general to have a good idea of what to expect. Understanding a guide is important; you can learn a lot from it, and through the basics you can find your way around easily.

In view of all this, there are few points below that.

Kuala Lumpur Culture:

When you arrive in Kuala Lumpur, you will experience that there are different types of people here. It is a busy city with many tourists, and this means that the society is a liberal one. It accommodates all the action that tourists want, and the attractions are abundant. Due to the different backgrounds that people come from, you might need to know what is not suitable. An example of this is giving gifts, which can be complicated. Do not serve liquor to a Muslim, and never gift a knife, clock, watch, or white flowers to Chinese people, as such gifts symbolize death.

Weather in Kuala Lumpur:

It is quite warm in Kuala Lumpur with plenty of rain all year round. This is believed to make it quite humid making it uncomfortable for some people who cannot tolerate high humidity and heat together. The coolest it ever gets in this place is around 19 or 20 degrees on the Celsius scale. All year round the weather is generally the same, with some months having more rain than others.

Shopping in Kuala Lumpur:

There is plenty to shop for in this city. You can buy almost anything at the shopping centers that surround the major hotels. Some of the best shopping centers to go to are:

  • Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, which is the main shopping area at Jalan Tuanku Abd. Rahman.
  • KLCC Suria; this is the latest shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Petaling Street and Jalan Bandar are located in the main part of Kuala Lumpur's busy Chinatown.

What to Wear in Kuala Lumpur:

Since it is quite hot and humid through out the year wearing heavy clothes won’t do you much good. It is better for u to wear something soft and light. Cotton T-shirts are the best and lose pants or even jeans will do fine. Some people even wear Bermuda shorts too.

Travel around Kuala Lumpur:

Aside from buses and taxis that run throughout the city, there is a light rail commuter in place. This is believed to have eased traffic jams, as it has its own set of tracks to move along on. Many visitors also use it as they can get to see a lot more, especially if they have a window seat.

Health Services in Kuala Lumpur:

Though one may go to any hospital in Kuala Lumpur, it is advised that visitors go to their embassies, especially visitors from the US, in order to get a list of doctors you could see. It is important to seek medical attention while on vacation because of the fact that being in a newer environment could mean contracting diseases that you are not immune to.

Kuala Lumpur Nightlife:

Jalan Bukit Bintang, which means Starhill Road, is a great place for nightlife action. The KL Plaza has many other entertainment spots as well, such as the Foxx Discotheque at the basement.

You can also have a lot of fun and entertainment at the Bird's Nest Executive Lounge, Zodiac Pub & Disco, RA City Pub, Ashibi Lounge and Queen Pub & Café.

Right opposite KL Plaza is the live music of The Regent Hotel Kuala Lumpur's Lobby Lounge. Also check out the Night Cat Karaoke & Pub further down the road in a bungalow converted for fun. The Rock Net Disco also serves as a great place for night entertainment patronized by hippy generation-Xers reveling with heavy rock music. Jalan Imbi is one of the main night spots, but is a cafe by day; it is a lounge that attracts beer aficionados at night. In addition to this, there is the Piano Lounge in Melia Hotel that provides one with relaxation.

Kuala Lumpur Business:

People in this city lead busy lives, even if they are into small businesses. Trade is most common here, and a great deal of revenue is earned through it. The hotel industry as well is another large source of income for the region. The activities that are provided to tourists are also part of the business environment with a great of earning coming through it as well.
