When you come to Delhi, there is a great deal that you could do with your time. You could go site seeing and discover Delhi’s heritage; sites such as Indhi's memorial at Raj Ghat are captivating, and you can also check out the wonderful architectural wonders as well. These include: the wonders of Jama Masjid and Taj Mahal; Humayun's Tomb; and the India Gate.
Museums:
Checking out the heritage in Delhi is something that can take hours of your time. One of the most interesting things that you could do is check out the museums. Some these would include the Miniature and mural paintings (National Museum); 19th-century steam locomotives (National Rail Transport Museum); and Sulabh International Museum of Toilets.
Well known eat outs:
Aside from checking out the museums, you could also visit well talked about eat outs, such as: mutton stew at Karim's; Memorable Meals-Tandoori chicken at Moti Mahal; and seafood at Ploof.
Evening entertainment:
Visiting the The sound-and-light show at the Red Fort or going disco dancing at Ghungaroo at Maurya Sheraton is also a nice way to entertain yourself in the evenings. In addition to these places ‘My Kind of Place’ at the Taj Palace Hotel, and CJ’s at Le Meridien Hotel are also entertaining.
Walks:
If you are looking for something more serene, you might want to on a walk, Raj Ghat, Nehru Park; and Lodi Gardens are the best known places.
Picnicking:
If you are looking out for a peaceful location to picnic, you could go down to the Ballabgarh Lake. This is a nice and quiet area located along the Delhi-Mathura Road. For those of you that are interested in fishing, the area is also a great place for fishing.
Another good place for picnicking is Surajkund. For those that like boating and fishing, there is plenty to enjoy. In addition to this entertainment, there is also a 18-hole golf course.
Wild life Beauty:
Wild life preservations might interest you too; you could go to the Corbett National Park that is Located at the foot of the Himalayas. Some of the animals that you can get to see here include: tigers, elephants, leopards, mugger-crocodiles, etc.
Aside from the Corbett National Park, there is the Sarika Tiger Reserve. This reserve covers a particular area of the Aravalli Mountain Range. Here, the animals include: tigers, leopards, sambars, wild boars, etc. An interesting feature of this park is that it bears the ruins of the Shiva Temple; a ninth-century temple.
Another place for enjoying animal sights includes the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary that is located at the Agra-Jaipur Road. This bird sanctuary has a migrant bird population numbering 500,000, and is known to be one or the two nesting centers for Siberian Cranes.
Sultanpur bird Sanctuary is similar to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Sultanpur bird Sanctuary is located near Gurgaon, and has a large lake. Birds from Europe, Central Asia and Siberia migrate here in the winter months. Two of the kinds that come here include the including Saurus Cranes and Flamingos.
