What to Wear in Japan
The type of clothing that you will need to pack before you come to Hangzhou depends on the months that you will be visiting Hangzhou. Formal clothes are not necessary unless you are planning to attend any formal functions. Clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, khakis, blouses and shirts are just fine. You will need to bring a couple of pairs of comfortable shoes, as you will probably be doing a great deal of walking while you explore interesting places in Hangzhou. You should note that transportation is banned inside most historical areas.
You should also take swimsuits along with you, as most of the hotels have swimming pools for their guests’ enjoyment. During the cooler months, from March to May and September to November, you should keep a sweater or a jacket handy, as it does get a little nippy.
